In order to feel grounded and centered, a total body approach is necessary.

Grounding involves multiple body processes. To be grounded, one must be balanced energetically, posturally, psychologically, and breath-wise. If one thing is off, it can have a domino effect.

You can’t be grounded in a state of tension. In a tense, contracted state, the breath is restricted, energy is pulled up toward the head, and psychologically, anxiety takes hold.

Although working on one element of grounding can potentially regulate the other three, standing exercises often aren’t enough.

Exercise can build strength and body awareness and distract from anxious thoughts, but it doesn’t always correct postural patterns that hinder grounding, like locked knees and chest breathing.

I identify these patterns and incorporate breathwork, somatic practices, and functional movement into my approach. These modalities rewire the brain, improve breathing function, and retrain the muscles to be less tense and move optimally. Book a session now to experience the benefits for yourself!
